Knock it off people. The OP posted a legitimate question and is perfectly within her rights to request that her thread stay on topic so she can make a well informed decision based on her situation.

If you want to fight, argue, or make ridiculous comments, do it via pm or start your own thread in Rants and Raves.

I see JKG (aka weird dude) is harrassing more people than just me. He has been reported and hopefully will be banned soon.

Now I will take my 40 lashes with a wet noodle for the abominable sin of going off topic yet again...

Susan, I like many people here and in the real world, like to smile on occasion. I also speak to people in the real world and rarely does an adult conversation not go off topic because a thinking human is a dynamic being :).

Smile OP :). It will make your journey so much easier!

And for the record...I found the chicken to be so full of excess fat that I could only eat a couple bites at several months past surgery. Which made me smile (cuz I do that a lot) as I tossed the thing. Keep a Protein drink in your purse. So much better for you!

My go to meal at McDonald's: Grilled chicken Sandwich Plain substitute with a hamburger bun. The meat doesn't even fit the small hamburger bun so why they put it on a huge roll is beyond me. I am sure you could keep the lettuce and tomato...I just like plain. It is about 230 calories.

I am an extremely happy person who smiles a lot, however, she did have a legitimate question, to which your first response was completely irrelevant.

I would see what the calorie content of a wrap is v. the bun. but I think either is fine.

But then our threads on Rants and Raves get closed even if they are PC. We move to vets, where we're not really able to discuss "vet rants" because the first two lines of our post can be seen before even clicking on the thread and THAT may offend somebody. I'm getting a little upset with the bias towards those of us "nazi's" that refuse to sugarcoat or the blatant favoritism showed to "newbies" that get their feelings hurt because they're told their behavior may cause a leak. I'll always be of the mindset- I'd rather hurt their feelings then have them deal with the hurt that comes with a leak.

And before anyone says it, yes I was a newbie once and that's why I came here during my 6 month pre-op qualification stage. To do my research and get the truth, without a sugar coated answer that forced people to tiptoe and walk on eggshells to tell me what I wanted/needed to know.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
