I've thought about it. I would wait longer though. It's pretty hard core. I would begin more with cardio/lifting weights or getting a personal trainer for a while first before jumping into Crossfit. I'm 6 months out and beginning to look at it now. I've been with a personal trainer 3x week since I was cleared for exercise - I've lost 78 pounds so far (262lb to 184).

I have a friend who does it and loves it, but she's not a surgery patient. We converted our media/movie room in our house into our exercise room. We love it and use it every day!

I don't know how heavy you are. I started out doing milder exercise and have worked up to hard/intense workouts over a period of year. But, I started out over 300# and have knee issues. My strategy has paid off - so far no injuries and I am fairly fit. My lumps and bumps remaining are mostly awaiting plastics to go away....

I was thinking it may be too intense for early on. I think the trainer may be the way to go. I have stuff at home but I need the accountability. Thanks y'all!

no need to wait.... in fact waiting may make it harder in the long run... we need to be building lean muscle mass while losing the fat, not waiting til after to do it..

of course it will be hard at first..but in no time, you will be a master at it

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
