Help! I swallowed my gum!

I accidentally just swallowed my gum- 5 days post op- should I be concerned? Call surgeon? I can't believe this just happened.

Ok I just did a search and the forum administrator Susan has said in the past that as long as you are not having trouble breathing and swallowing you should be ok. But call the doctor to check in about it.

Be careful, I am not sure that we should be having gum. It gets the stomach juices going or something like that. Try to stay away from it.

Called my surgeon- on a Saturday night. He said I should be just fine. Needless to say I won't be chewing gum again. Thanks all!
