Blood in stool anyone?

Recommended Posts

I hate to be graphic but hell we all have been through a lot so ok. I am almost 3 months post op. two weeks ago I had blood in my still after being constipated and straining. I figured it was maybe hemorrhoids. Well last night I had to go and I have been taking Miralax to help so there was no issue with straining. There was blood again. Bright red which I know is symptoms of a lower GI issue. Just wondering if anyone had this happen and what was the outcome.

Thanks

Could still be hemorrhoids.

I agree it is probably the hemroids. But please keep an eye open in case it continues to happen. I would get a hold of your doctor if it does. Take care and don't worry.

Ok, gross question, gross answer...LOL None of us can be modest at this point, right?

Is the blood "mixed in" with the stool or does it look like it is "streaked" down the side? If it's just kind of streaked on the outside, it's probably just still from the earlier Constipation.

I agree being bright red it's probably a fissure or hemorrhoids. Good luck.

I had this several weeks post op. I had horrible Constipation. The worst of my life actually. So bad I was crying. And I see lots of bright red blood. It was definitely hemeroids. As said bright red blood is usually hemeroids. The straining will rupture them. I was so scared but it turned out okay but still keep an eye on it and maybe bring it up to your dr.

My experience is that it is hemorrhoids also and I think the bright red blood is the clue. I would also have a little blood on the TP. It's scary to experience but likely nothing to worry about. You might mention it to your doc if you are concerned.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
