Well, I think I'm just bring a pansy. My stomach hurts a lot and that's about it :/

You would be running a fever over 100 degrees, rapid heart rate, pale skin, sweaty, body aches, general feeling of uncomfortableness, etc. Like I said, it can be a myriad of symptoms. How far out are you?

I had my surgery on Thursday, so this would be my 3rd day out. I'm such a sucker for pain and I can't seem to get comfortable no matter how I may down or sit up :/

Hi , I just had my surgery done on Thursday as well . I still feel terrible too. The gas pain is the killer for me and severe nausea. My MD said its normal. My incisions are sore but nothing that I can't handle. Yesterday was a bad day, I was regretting what I did . Today is a better day but my scale said I'm 2pounds up .. Really ?!? I guess we have to take this journey one day at a time :) feel better soon !

I hear that we gain weight at first due to all the gas and fluids. I've gained 3 lbs too and I haven't consumed no more than 500 calories since Thursday. I'm more concerned about this pain, just going to take it one day at a time :)

I have heard there is a critical window for Leaks. What is the window? How far out after surgery are you safely out of the window?

The window is between 6-8 weeks. Once you clear that you're okayish

Most leaks occur within the first 30 days....now that is not to say you can't get one ever after the 30 days. Some people have been known to get leaks at 6 months out but highly unlikely.

Just make sure you are focusing on getting your fluids and Protein in. Stay on top of your pain meds to ease the discomfort and follow the surgeon's dietary guidelines to a tee - don't mess with that.

Good luck! It will be the BEST thing you have ever done for yourself - I promise. I am 3 months out and down 50 pounds. I NEVER could have lost 50 pounds on my own without the assistance of the sleeve. It is a great tool in the battle of the bulge.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
