Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Where do you men shop for regular sizes?

Recommended Posts

I can no longer shop at my beloved Casual Male. I've shopped there for so many years, I don't know where to go now. The choices are overwhelming. I looked around a few big name department stores, but those clothes seemed like they were mostly for teenagers. Where does a skinny 40 something go?

My husband is naturally skinny and is 45. I shop for him at Kohls dept store. Other stores that are decent are JcPennys, and Farm amd Fleet (I dont know if you have any of those stores)

Khol's, JC Penny, Belk, Macy's. You could even try out Ross or T.J. Maxx. My father is 45 and shops at Old Navy for their jeans. And sometimes they have good shirts too.

Your father is 45? You just made me feel old.

Several people have mentioned Kohl's to me though..I will definitely have to try them.

I love Kohls! I also shop at banana Republic, Zara, Express, H&M and at local clothing stores around NYC.

Myers, David Jones, Roger David, depends on your style. Head to a Westfield and take your pick but I would go somewhere that has a bit of customer service.

I have vowed to never again walk into a Casual Male. :)

I think Kohls is a good choice, from what I've seen walking around d one with my wife, although I need tall lengths, so they may be limited. JC Penney has tall sizes, so that probably will be OK for me. I like Lands' End for catalog shopping.

NSV... was in Walmart the other day buying something else, and walked by the jeans. I wondered, 'Well, I'm down a bit... Let's see.' And I found a pair that fit well!!!! There was only one pair of 46-32, but I bought them! First time buying pants in a regular department store since like 2004ish!

Awww I'm sorry! If it makes you feel better, my dad lost 100 pounds in the last two years and is in the best shape of his life! He runs 5ks, lifts weights, and bikes. He even quit smoking. I hope to join him in all his athletic endeavors :] So just think, even past 45 it's not always too late to change your life and your health.

In Baton Rouge we have the Dillards Clearance center. I had the need for 3 days worth of buisiness casual clothes last week so I went in there. I got 2 pair of 42/32 slacks and 3 16 1/2 long sleve dress shirts for $68. By far the most fun I have had in a department store in the last 20 years,

Also like Bass Pro - easy in & out with dressing rooms right in the middle of the clothing section. Most of the time I have been shopping in my closet from the last time I lost a lot of weight many years ago. So long ago, old navy still had heavy denim jeans... It so much more fun in the regular fellow section.

Butterthebean, funny question. The answer is "anywhere else". I've been up and down over the years and always enjoy those times where I did not have to pay the premium that Casual Male charges.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
