*mommyof3* 7 Posted January 25, 2013 Hey everyone So I am 2days post OP and was just wondering if feeling hungry is normal? I guess I expected to have no hunger pangs or anything. I was able to finish a Jello cup without any issues and have been able to drink Water pretty easily. I have noticed that when I swallow, if I am not sitting straight up, I get pains in the middle of my breast bone, kind of like a gas pain. I am so worried that I am going to overeat and mess something up. On Clear liquids right now. Any advice is welcomed!! Thanks!!
nnesom04 2 Posted January 25, 2013 For about a week struggled to eat/drink at all. Then one day could drink without any issues. So fast it scared me. Called the doctor and they said that the swelling had gone down and that drinking shouldn't be an issue anymore. Maybe your swelling wasnt so bad. I would call doc just to check. Richard Foor 655 Posted January 25, 2013 The pain when you are not sitting up straight probably is gas pain because when you don't sit up right you are more likely to swallow air when you are drinking. I personally felt hunger pangs for the first week or so, apparently the grehlin stays in your system for a little while but it went away. Good Luck.
johnlatte 1,232 Posted January 25, 2013 make sure you are sipping and not drinking. No straws either. The hunger is part acid/gas, part head hunger. Your Dr should probably prescribe some nexium or something like that. You will have some head hunger (not really hungry, but your head will think it is). It goes away after a bit.
