Any one who has NOT lost hair?

Recommended Posts

I've read a lot about those of you have lost hair, but I was wondering if there is anyone who has not lost hair? Or is it just impossible? Thanks!

I think everyone is going to lose some hair to differing degrees. I started losing at the 6 month mark and it stopped at 9 months. 12 months out, you would have never known I had lost any hair. I was great with my Protein intake and took all my Vitamins, including Biotin. My calories were over 1,200 a day, Protein and carbs well over 100g per day. Should have had everything covered.

I just think it is one of those things that happens to most WLS people. Why? Don't know for sure, but I do know that fat holds a lot of hormones and hair folicles are sensitive to hormone balance. Ask any woman who has been pregnant how their hair was.

I had a total hysterectomy in Aug 2012 and then the sleeve in Nov 2012. I should be losing hair from my first surgery but as of yet, there hasn't been any noticeable loss. I started taking my bariatric Vitamins BEFORE my surgeries so I could get used to them. I also use Aveda's Invati serum daily on my scalp to help prevent Hair loss. So far, so good.

I started losinf at 3 months. I'm at 5 months now and it seems to be less and less. Or at least thats the way it seems when I'm cleaning it out of the drain. When I started losing the hair, I increased my Protein. I usually get between 8o and 100 grams per day now.

Almost the same story here.

It's kind of gross when the hair runs down my body in the shower, ick. Hopefully it slows down soon, fortunately I have long thick hair so it's not noticeable.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
