Bree 65 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm new here *hi* 31, married, working in the tech industry and finally -- I'm booked in, and nervous but it's a nervous excitement. A friend of mine, not on this forum, just had the gastric sleeve procedure. Her post op 3 days were a nightmare for her. Nausea, throwing up blood, etc. The good news is, she made it out of the clear and if she can handle it, I can handle it. It still has not hit me yet... Perhaps it will once I've started the pre-op diet and purchased the plane tickets... I knew I was going to do Mexico when I realized that I simply couldn't afford American doctors. I have a lot of money saved but it would take another 18 months at least before I had enough for an american doc. I did a fair amount of research and this forum helped a lot with my decision of a doctor. My biggest fear isn't complicatons, it's not waking up. Greatly looking forward to doing something I wanted to do years ago!

Lannie2202 25 Posted February 10, 2013 Sounds good. I am really struggling with the doubt right now. I know I can follow the diet... I'm more apprehensive about going alone and leaving my babies...they are one and two. I am having a lot of what ifs right now. I also know I can't loose weight by diet and exercise. I need to be healthy. Any of you struggling?
superstartover 101 Posted February 17, 2013 Lannie leaving our family is difficult but that means you are a good parent do you have a good support network of friends and family that can take excellent care of you kiddos for a few days
Bree 65 Posted February 19, 2013 I'm not struggling, but then again, it doesn't feel real yet. I know that I'll struggle with the pre-op diet... but not too worried. Honestly I just want to get it over and done with as soon as possible. I wish I did this years ago!!

albertamom 53 Posted February 27, 2013 March 1 for me with Dr. Aceves.. I leave tomorrow for San Diego.. I go back and forth between fear and excitement. I think it would be strange if we didnt. I am nervous about leaving my babes too. But Part of the reason I am doing it, is to be a better mom to them, a healthier and more active mom.. I think that is worth the few days I will be gone.
