What's the verdict on getting Protein in through smoothies? I love fruit and I enjoy eating it raw but if I can't have it, can I get an all fruit smoothies with protein from Jamba juice? Is that too much sugar? But oh how I miss my natural goodness.

Way too much sugar!! It probably wouldn't sit well in your tummy :)

It sits amazingly and I can drink a whole 16oz:( after I drank that last week I thought wow that is dangerous. Yeah I will stay away. But I am sad that I can't bite into an apple!!! (I'm 3weeks out)

Yes I am. Though I took my band out a year before my sleeve my dr said I will be a slow loser AND restriction is harder to feel (why didn't he tell me that before the sleeve!??) so I think liquids are easier for me. Yeah a strawberry scares me right now. I have been eating raspberries and that's been doing the trick.

How many calories do you eat daily?

I'm further out than you! But I eat between 500 and 700 calories a day.. I eat my Protein first about 2 to 3 oz then I throw some veggies in. I haven't had a lot of fruit yet. Oh and I still drink my protein shakes! What can I say I like them!

I'm a slow loser no miracles here!

Oh and they also don't tell you you won't feel the restriction with all the junk food too!!

We all learn that the hard way! ;)

just want to remind you that one of the pitfalls i have heard about is drinking your calories. drinking things high in calories will not promote the weight loss and can even bring about weight gain. I know how you feel about missing something you loved. I loved icecream and it is one of the few things that still tugs at me saying "eat me".. i haven't given in and i hope not to.. not yet anyways.. still have lots of lbs to lose! good luck!

Yeah I drink Premier shakes for breakfast too. I didn't mind them but lately have been getting sick of them so I took two days off and started again today. The muscle milk light is disgusting. Premier is the best way to boost my Protein where I need to be.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
