Post op day 8, advanced to full liquid

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me what they are/were eating at this point in a full day? I am on Full liquids which includes the Clear Liquids plus I am allowed the whey Protein shakes, strained LF creamed Soups, thinned oatmeal or cream of wheat, SF or non fat greek yogurt, thinned ricotta cheese, diluted juices etc.

In my notes and notebook I cannot find out how often I am supposed to eat or the quantities (other than stop when you feel full), just what I am allowed to have. I know about the Fluid requirement which is always the same...64 ounces.

I can't say I am ever feeling hungry (other than a little head hunger) or full and even when I sip liquids I have a little bit of discomfort, not really pain just like an internal churning feeling...and my tummy growls a lot all of the time. So I don't even know what full feels like either...I am just eating a teaspoon or two and then stopping.

Thanks as always for your help!

I liked the creamy Soups because they lasted a bit longer than the brothy soups. Cream of chicken, cream of broccoli, broccoli cheese soups ham and bean Soup (if you puree it up a little). Plus your Protein shakes or juice or Water.

My sleeve is LOUD. I don't know what the hell she is doing in there most of the time! I hear it goes away after awhile. I will miss her saying hello, LOL.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
