Hey everyone. Had my gastric sleeve november 8th. The weight loss stalls are so aggrivating. I have lost 43 pounds. I am so scared I will be the one person this surgery fails on. I am curious to hear others expeience with this.

Oh honey....stalls are the #1 topic of conversation on here! Just realize everyone is different, so try not compare yourself to others (which I find very difficult!) & know...we will all lose..we have to with the amount we eat...it just takes some longer then others! Just keep on doing what your doing...43lbs! WOW, how long has it been since you lost 43 lbs before this?? Keep rockin your sleeve & you will be fine!

I think you're right on target. What was your starting weight? It's been less than 3 months you're doing great! I've lost 47 and my surgery was 11/3.

Thank you. My starting weight was 246. This morning 203. I am ahead of schedule as far as the dr. Is concerned. Im my own worst critic. I look in the mirror and I see the same fat girl. I guess those are the issues I should work on. Thats one reason why I am here. For help from people who understand.

I know how you feel.. I too am my own worst enemy.. I look in the mirror and dont see a difference either.. even tho my hubby says there is a huge difference.. I just dont see it even tho the scale says ive lost 40lbs.. I was sleeved dec 20. And its true everyone is different.. I guess all the years of being over weight.. our self esteem has taken a beating. I guess the reality will set in when I lose my pants and they hit the floor LOL. People say Im thinner.. but I dunno. Im waiting for the pants and when I get to buy new clothes.. skinny clothes..and I have not ever lost 40 lbs ever during a diet phase before.. but according to my doc Ive done really well.. and my husband are are his "poster children" is what he called us..and we were asked to speak at a seminar for him. so that was really cool.. but keep up the good work.. you are doing fab.

Thanks Nancy. In preparation for your pants falling, make sure you wear underwear! I stepped on the back of my scrub pants and guess what??? I was glad I had them on lol. Noone saw it, but my face still felt the heat of embarrassment!

Ohh the fat person image.... I think that is a battle on it's own. I don't see the slimmer me until I see photos or when I'm on one of those surveillance cameras in stores....I'm like, who is that?! My brother lost over 100 pounds and still sees a fat person in the mirror. Bottom line is the surgery is working. It's working great at that. I was 50 pounds exactly heavier than you and only lost five more pounds. Keep up the great work and give yourself some credit!!

When I look at comparison pics I see the difference. I am trying to give myself benefit of the doubt. Im working on it. Been fat for almost 19 years. I am just ready for the weight to be gone! I know its going and with the million stalls I have been having I know its coming.

I had surgery on November 14. I was 235 and now I am 190. We have lost almost exactly the same. I think I am doing well and you are too. We have the rest of our lives to lose our excess weight. It will happen.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
