bellelisa 0 Posted January 25, 2013 If u r on prescription meds can i be denied for surgery?
Takingcontrol 467 Posted January 25, 2013 I am on meds & wasn't denied. I guess it depends on what meds...if your on a blood thinner that could cause problems. Check with your doc.
bellelisa 0 Posted January 25, 2013 Im on zoloft for anxiety. Since my stomach's gonna be smaller will my dose change and im afraid they wont let me get the surgery.
Takingcontrol 467 Posted January 25, 2013 That shouldn't be a problem. & no, the size of your stomach won't change your dosage...but as you get smaller & your body size decreases they may lower your dosage. Just be honest with your doc...good luck on your journey!
Keepgoing247 116 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm on Zoloft and I'm just over 3 weeks post op. I had a bit of a hard time taking it the first week post op, but I break it in half and am able to get it down fine now. Good luck!
WillowsAngel_32513 70 Posted January 25, 2013 This shouldnt hinder your surgery approval, a lot of us are on meds, i got approved and i take 6 pills a day. Thats why we are having surgery to get healthy and get off meds...
nicoleco 11 Posted February 7, 2013 i normally take zoloft everyday. the first few days after surgery i was taking my pills fine (go figure) but after a couple of days i kept getting severe heartburn. so i stopped taking them for 2 weeks until my ppi kicked in. i took half of my dose (one pill) tonight for the first time and had a little bit of an uncomfortable feeling but not nearly as bad as it was. i dont think my dose needs to change but boy does it affect my tummy differently.
