Hey everyone, I'm at the hospital waiting for dr. Garcia right now. I have my iv in which went better than when I had one for my c section. When they put the medicine for nausea and antibiotics in my line I guess they did it too fast and I immediately felt nauseous and threw up. Dr. Luna came by and he wasn't concerned about the nausea. By the way, he is super hot. :)

Only bad thing is last night I started to feel sick so I have a head cold right now. Wish me luck. I am so unbelievably nervous. I have to do well so I can get home to my two year old. I miss him so much already.

Hey guys! Just wanted to give you guys an update. I didn't have my surgery till 5:30 last night because Dr. Garcia was doing an emergency surgery at the government hospital. All I remember is laying on the operating table thinking "what the hell am I doing" and I saw the anesthesiologist put something in my iv and the next thing I know I'm waking up in recovery. I've had a ton of gas but its more uncomfortable than painful. The only bad part is I have had a lot of nausea and have been throwing up a ton. Finally got that under control. I am supposed to go home tomorrow but the doctors may push for me to stay one day at the hotel so we will see. I just miss my baby and want to go home to him. Thanks for all the well wishes!

I'm glad you made it through your surgery safely and I hope you feel better. Rest and follow the doc's orders!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
