sailorbrees 69 Posted January 25, 2013 I am having my surgery on April 8th in Tijuana, MX with Dr. Elias Ortiz. I am so nervous/excited/scared/happy/etc. I know this will be the hardest thing I have ever done, but I will come out stronger in the end (and lighter). I am self-paying. Not sure that MX is necessarily the best route, but I was denied 3 times here due to coverage (not requirements for surgery) and refused to wait another minute. 2 feelbetter and rockdutchess82 reacted to this
MOOMOM 5 Posted January 25, 2013 Hi everyone...I am tentatively scheduled for an April 12th surgery...just beginning with my NUT and other doc appointments for clearance. I'm having it here in the US. I am in a very unstable place right now, going back and forth and back and forth between the Sleeve and the LapBand. I am leaning more toward the sleeve now. I feel excited, but nervous... I wish all of you so many blessings on this journey! 2 feelbetter and taylokat reacted to this
taylokat 180 Posted January 26, 2013 Hello Moomom! I am scheduled for April 12th also! But I am scheduled at Centrastate in Freehold with Dr. Sadek. I'm also in the process of seeing the required docs pre-op. I had considered the LapBand but where I work we see quite a few of slipped bands and other problems. Many wind up with another surgery to convert to bypass or sleeve. It will be nice to follow someone locally especially since we are scheduled for the same day! feelbetter 26 Posted January 27, 2013 I am scheduled for April 2 with Dr Alvarez in Mexico! I am actually very excited and hopeful. I am currently 252 pounds and have high blood pressure (controlled with four medications). I know the pre-op diet will be challenging, but I strangely looking forward to it. It will mean I am leaving this weight behind for life! I am just ready to feel energetic and healthy again!
