Hey all. I am 4 weeks post op. I have been at a stall since week 3. I am 5'5"and now weigh 219lbs. I am down only 15 lbs in 4weeks. My Protein intake is at about 54 gms per day. My caloric intake is at about 400-700 cals per day. My Fluid intake is about 48-52 oz per day.

I need some encouragement. click on "like" to give me a boost, or post something positive. Thanks to this forum for always being supportive! You all rock!

Try upping your Fluid intake. I am also fluid challenged, and when they I was at my 4 week post op a week ago, I was complaining about being in a stall. First thing she asked me is if I am getting enough Water in. She said that water/fluid is an important part of eliminating fat from the body. So now I am making sure I am getting 64 oz a day. I don't know 100% it is working because I made my husband hide my scale! LOL!

I'm four weeks out also and hit the 3 week stall last week. I have read enough info on this forum to know that stalls are temporary. AND IRRITATING! You are doing everything right - hang in there.... I didn't change anything at all and the scale finally started moving down again. I think our body needs to play catch up sometimes. Have faith and keep going forward - this a journey not a race (that's what someone told me!)

At my 3 week stall I found that even though the scale wasnt moving, I was still losing inches. Like Decembersleever said, it must be our bodies just catching up. I broke thru mine by upping my calories a bit with some good fats like sliced avocado or Peanut Butter. I broke thru but it was only a couple of pounds. I tend to lose about 2 to 3 pounds every week and a half. Its slow but as long as the scale doesnt go UP, Im all good with it. Hang in there beautiful.

I had my surgery on Dec. 27 in Mexico and today I am four weeks out. I was hoping I wouldn't stall in the third week, but exactly on the first ay of the beginning of the third week, i stopped losing. I didn't lose for two days then went down .6 then up .8, then down .8 then up .4 and this is frustrating! I lost exactly 15 pounds in the first two weeks, one pound per day and now my husband is saying you just had a $5,000 surgery and you still can't take the weight off? aaaarrrgggghhhh! I do know that I am constipated and am trying today to resolve this problem after taking exlax last night. I am praying that this will not continue much more than another day or so because I haveover 100 pounds to lose. How can it not work, right? I can hardly eat much, only about 1/5 to 1/4 cup food at one time. Best of luck to you, keep me posted.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
