Post op pain 2 weeks

Recommended Posts

Anyone have this random sharp, burning, stabbing like pain at the puncture site right of the belly button. (I believe its the one they removed stomach from). It happens usually at night and brings tears to my eyes. Only last for like 30 minutes. Happened last 3 nights. Wakes me up! I don't know if I roll on it or not!!!

I have not had the sharp stabbing pain for a few days. When I did it was like it was under the incision site where they removed the stomach. I get weird feelings if I move wrong or if I try to turn from one side to the other while I'm bent over.

Mine was on the left side, but yes, I had pain like that still happening at 3 weeks out. Good news is that by 4 weeks it was all a memory.

Mine was on the right. Everyone had me ready to have it on the left. But the more you walk the dog goes away... At least for me.

Ok, so I am not alone with this!! Hoping it goes away!! Probably just healing and shifting inside. But, when it happens it reminds me of the surgery for sure!! I also can feel like a knot at the site too..

Walk and try to get Water in. It is healing and when it doesn't hurt take advantage and do a few extra laps around the house. It does help

No problem. Good luck with the pain. Just remember it won't last forever

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
