MinaT 669 Posted January 23, 2013 It's been less than 3 weeks since you had surgery. Are you taking an acid reducer? Hunger pains in the middle of the night could still be healing of your stomach along with the acids in your stomach. The feeling is exactly like hunger pangs. Keep some Water at your bed and drink a few ounces when that happens. For the first four or five weeks after surgery, when I went to bed my stomach growled and I felt like I was hungry, but it was the acid and the healing. It went away. Before I went to bed I usually had a few sips of skim milk and that would make feel full, then I would wake up with that feeling. My doctor and nutritionist explained to me it was acid & healing pains.
