I'm Approved, But...

Recommended Posts

I just found out this morning that I'm approved by insurance (took 3 days). I'm scheduled for Monday, November 13th.

But, then I got a call from my PCP this afternoon saying he needs to see me tomorrow, that my lab work showed low Iron, and a "little" anemia.

:angry

Anyone else run into this? I don't think I can sleep tonight waiting to find out what's going on...

Iron deficiency is really common among women and most of the time can be managed by supplements. Try not to get too concerned until you see the doctor.

My experience has been with mild anemia during and after pregnancy, and I've had no other problems.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Thanks for the support. I'm not worried about long-term management, but I would hate to have my surgery rescheduled because of this...

:o:) :Banane10: :sigh:

If anybody cares, I found out today that I have low oxygen levels as a result of low iron/hemoglobin. I was sent directly to the gastroenterologist for either continuing loss of blood (no symptoms), or lack of ability to absorb Iron. My PCP says I should be dizzy, confused, weak, and fatigued, for lack of oxygen (91% at rest, 78% when asleep).

So, I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy (sorry, TMI!) and endoscopy tomorrow to look for blood.

My surgery is still scheduled for Monday just in case, but I'm not holding out too much hope...

Wish me luck!

Oh No, RS..

I thought it was a case of simple anemia. On my last labs before my TT - the labs came back so low 5 days before surgery was scheduled, that I had to start taking prescription Iron tabs. :sick But it was a simple case of my blood's low iron levels, I was oxygenating decently.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you... take care and let us know what happens, OK?
