Anyone have pain in their tailbone. i was sleeved 11/5 and I'm down 58# and down 87 since september. When driving more than 2 hours my butt is killing me. I had no butt before surgery and now have less. I have seen the pads being advertised on tv has any one tried these and if so did it help? Which one did you try?

I wanna try padded panties because my arse is killing me! I too had nothing there pre op so down even 30lbs and my tailbone hurts constantly. It hurt beforehand so I knew it'd get worse. I wish I could sit for 2 hrs!!

hi Lizv123,

Padded panties sounds good...but i would also recommend getting in touch with your physical/occupational therapist bec they might have better recommendations for padding/ special surface material (seat cushion) for your everyday sitting routine (chair, couch, car, etc). You want to protect your tailbone bec if it's hurting and you're losing weight you don't want to have skin breakdown there which will be hard to heal and painful. moisturize the area, avoid friction, and keep the skin protected. Your hospital should cover this seat cushion --- hope this helps.

Hi,

I have severe tailbone pain from osteoarthritis/degenerative disc disease in my lumbar spine. This has caused sacral nerve root inflammation and entrapment. I have a "doughnut" cushion that I sit on especially riding/driving in car or at desk when working for aa while. It helps. I got it at a home health agency. I recommend if you didn't fall recently that caused it. To mention it to your doctor. Especially if it has lasted a while. I have lost 45+ lbs and it has not helped the pain. I am doing PT twice a week, exercises, heat, e-stimulation, and have had two bilateral sacral nerve blocks. So far only improvement is I can bend over sometimes and pick up items off the floor which I could not anytime before without screaming.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
