its as if the Fat Devils are trying to hold me down (venting)

Recommended Posts

I had a New Year's Eve Goal of 199 lbs...didnt happen... January 31st goal of 190.... not going to happen

Im not discouraged at the weight not loss just frustrated with the scales and the things getting in my way....

Last week I had a Migraine from hell for 3 days then mentrual cramps... Didnt go over in calories but made a couple of bad food choices.... I still managed to get most of my exercise in...

This week I have a bad cold & bronchitis... Im mostly on liquid diet because thats all I can handle... not going over on calories but havent exercised since last week... Today is the first day I feel like I can hold my head off the pillow without crying...

and thus the scale has NOT been my friend

Jan 1: 210.4

Jan 7: 209.3

Jan 14: 204.9

Jan 21: 202.2

today 201.8

it should NOT take a month to lose 10 lbs....

Overall Im happy... Im down over 70 pounds from my HW 6 months ago.... I am solidly in a size 14 which I havent worn in 13 years..... but frustrated none the less....

I have decided that From February 1 to March 1, I will NOT look at the scale AT ALL.... I will record my weight as well as my neck, bust, waist, hip, thigh, and calf measurements on Feb 1... then not again until March 1....

I don't want to upset you, but after your initial loss and now that your bmi is only 31.1, I think 10 lbs a month is pretty normal. The weight loss is going to slow down the closer you get to goal. Plus, 10 lbs a month gives your skin some time to catch up. Hang in there. You are doing great!

I think you are going great! And you need to remember (although it is hard) at least the scale is consistantly moving down!

I am kind of where you are right now. Kind of frustrated but hanging in there. I was really sick two weeks ago so I stopped working out and then I went on a little mini vacation last week and didn't work out again. For me that is the ONLY way I lose weight (which is kind of a bummer). But I think we have made great progress thus far! Keep it up- hang in there! Get back to the gym! I think once you get your juices flowing again with exercise- things will start to change. At least that is my hope for the both of us! :)^_^;)

glad you are on the mend :)

like lovetennis said - at this point you "might" lose a bit slower. losing 10 lbs a month is GREAT

throwing that scale away for a month - good luck on that!!hard to do, but go for it!!!, couldn't hurt!!!!

frustrated????

vent away - we're good sounding/listening boards!! :)

take care bud

you are on the right path, going "downhill'

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
