Harpo 30 Posted January 23, 2013 Not really scared of the surgery, but about not being able to eat much or drink alcohol after. I keep thinking "how am I going to act in social situations?" Will I be a different person? Am I going to be the "odd duck", while all my friends are having a good time? One of my favorite things is to go out for a prime steak & a few glasses of wine. Will I be able to do that? Lots of questions....a little uneasy, & scared. I hope I'm making the right decision. Surgery is set for a month away. On a brighter note, I booked a quick little vacation to Mexico for next week. I thought a little rest & one last fiesta would help me tackle these thoughts & fears I'm having. LG1981 111 Posted January 23, 2013 Hi Jason, Fear not! It sounds like you have an active social life. That means you have friends. They will most likely be in support of you getting healthy. You will learn to handle these situations... What works, what doesnt. I think that many of us (myself included) have placed such importance on food in social gatherings. Its about being SOCIAL. You would be the odd duck if you sat with your friends and said nothing during an entire night. I think as long as you hold a glass of something (water), and you are your regular self, you will do great. So go to MX, party it up and have fun!
