Ok I know I'm not suppose to eat them, but I must confess I had 6 baked chips. Chewed them till they were mush. How does it affect the stomach? It didn't hurt & the 6 chips filled me up. I just want to know what it does to the stomach. I'm 17 wks out.

Lol .... no damage done. You chewed and they were baked not fried - sounds like a pretty tame "treat" for 17 weeks out :)

How long do you have to be on full liquids? My Dr put me on purée after 2 weeks of full liquids. I am on the purée stage for 4 weeks. Then soft foods for another 4 weeks. Then normal food. It seems like you should be on normal foods by now. I wish all doctors used the same diet timeline.

If you're craving salt there are individual chip size seaweed chips, 30 cal /pack (I think there's ~ 15). They sell the snack packs by the box at costco or on Amazon. (0 carbs, 1g protein)

Do you mean 17 days or 17 weeks? You can't possibly still be on full liquids still!!!

So I'm curious now ..... how many weeks then till you can progress to pureed/soft foods? How much weight have you lost? 4 months liquid diet .... I dunno whether I would have gone through with the surgery if I knew that!

Sorry you misunderstood my post. I was only on full liquid for a week . Then on to purée , then to solids . I believe I started solid foods & was able to eat anything I wanted after the 5th week. The reason I asked about eating chips , is because I wanted to know what the harm was, besides eating carbs.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
