So, I was scheduled for March 8th with Dr. Lopez, and I had to cancel my surgery due to lack of $$$. I've applied for 2 loans and both no luck. I'm going to have to use the money from my tax return to fix my car that decided to break down on me :( this sucks.

I feel so bad for you. If only we were all just wealthy and didn't ever have that stress. Keep your attitude positive and here's hoping that everything lines up so you can get it done sooner than later.

Whatever happened to the new in house financing the r4ac offers?

I don't think they have that... I think they go through other companies too. Which would still require a consigner. When I applied for my loan at my bank, I even put my car up for collateral and still nothing... :(

Sorry this has happened to you. I was supposed to be sleeved October 16th but had money problems, then my date was November 11th but money troubles weren't sorted yet. Finally I was sleeved 2 days ago!

I hope you get a new date too

Thank you everyone! I'm going to save whatever money I have left out of my tax return after fixing my car and try to put away $4-500 a month. Hopefully by summer I will have a new date :)

Jesser I know how you feel, I also went with Ready 4 a Change, I had to push my surgery from feb 8th to feb 25th, now I may have to push a little farther out :-( I also contacted ready 4 a change about that program Ed mentioned and Alma said they aren't doing it. So frustrating!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
