Greek yogurt challenged

How much fat is in the whipped cream cheese from Trader Joes? I would think it would be to high??

The Trader Joe's Organic Light Whipped Cream cheese has 4.5 grams of fat per 2 tbs. The regular Organic whipped has 10 grams.

I get two servings out of it, so it's less than 3 grams of fat if I use light and 5 if I use the regular (which I like more).

I make it a point NOT to try and cut too much fat from my diet. I am a firm believer that our bodies need all 3 nutrients (Protein, carbs and fat), so I try to eat 5-6 small balanced meals (about 250 calories) throughout the day.

I eat Fred Meyer's Greek Non-Fat Plain Yogurt 6oz serving (110 cal, 7 carbs, 16 Protein, 20% calcium). I have dozens of recipes to incorporate it into stuff. If interested, let me know.

Yoplait's yogurt is not Greek yogurt. If you read the ingredients, they add corn starch and other ingredients to thicken it. Real Greek yogurt has most of the whey drained out-- thats what make it thick. Check your labels when you shop. Greek yogurt should pretty much just read milk and live and active yogurt cultures. Of course fruit too if it's added. I make yogurt at home. It's super easy and then I know what's in it!!!

EXACTLY RIGHT. I make yogurt by the gallon. it's much cheaper than store products and tastier too. If you're really worried about doing it right you can even buy a yogurt maker that will keep it at just the right temperature, but I've never had a failed batch just making it in a huge pickle jar, setting in a warm Water bath in a crockpot and covering with a towel. It takes a long time to make yogurt but it's not labor intensive at all.

[quote=Lisa :)]Carbsmart is made by Kroger (Ralph's).

My FAVORITE way to eat greek yogurt is to whip up 2 tbs of Trader Joe's Organic whipped cream cheese with 8 oz of 0% greek yogurt (my personal favorite is Trader Joe's b/c the Protein content is so high). I add a few drops of vanilla extract as well and I sweeten with Splenda. Tastes like cheesecake!!!! I add blueberries or strawberries and then I sprinkle with 1/2 of a crushed graham cracker. It's AMAZING!!! i can never eat it all so I usually split into 2 servings.

What is the Protein content in trader joes yogurt? I don't normally shop there, but I easily could.

I get plain 2% Greek yogurt or make my own and then just flavor it with french vanilla stevia. Like another person mentioned, watch the labels. Some are not really Greek yogurt. All the label should say is milk and cultures. And watch for flavored varieties as well. They are usually sweetened with sugar.

I'm actually out right now, but I believe it's 20 or 22 grams. The Chobani, I believe, is 22 grams as well. I just buy the TJ's becasue I eat A LOT of it....and it's less expensive.

I bought a yogurt maker and it came out really good...for plain yogurt. Now I have to experiment with different ways to "flavor it up".

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
