SaraLaughs 23 Posted January 22, 2013 I have never been much of a soda drinker, but for the last two weeks or so, I've been dying for a soda! I'm one month post op, and way too scared of the bubbles to even attempt a sip, but what the heck? Anyone else have weird cravings?
bbbslady 18 Posted January 22, 2013 I have absolutely no problems
enigmachik 403 Posted January 22, 2013 Actually, yes. I was never a soda drinker before surgery. I never craved the stuff and certainly never bought it. But since my surgery I have craved soda A LOT and I've given in to that craving a few times even though I know it's a big no-no for sleevers. 2 SaraLaughs and kmwheel reacted to this
Lander 74 Posted January 22, 2013 My weird craving has been for nacho chips. I can go years without eating them but suddenly just want to sit and suck on them and chew them into dust. 1 SaraLaughs reacted to this
Youngun 53 Posted January 22, 2013 My weird craving has been for nacho chips. I can go years without eating them but suddenly just want to sit and suck on them and chew them into dust. I never used to like nachos either, but now I've been craving them like crazy! If you want to suck on them you may be craving salt and so you could be dehydrated... kmwheel 127 Posted January 22, 2013 I will do a sip every once in a while, just a tiny sip!! I think it's more of a mental thing than anything. I used to love Diet Dr. Pepper...or even the store brands. I'm glad I don't need it anymore.
KarissaKhaos 170 Posted January 22, 2013 Whenever I have soda, I choose Pepsi Max because it has no sugar and very low sodium. It helps your soda craving without blowing your whole diet 1 MsLissa12 reacted to this
MOMW 71 Posted January 22, 2013 I am almost 8 months out. I have a caffeine free diet coke once a week. If I get it through drive through, I leave it sit for awhile until the carbonation fizzles. At home I do not keep it cold. I pour it over ice and let it sit for awhile. I don't have a problem except maybe some reflux the next day. This is how I handle it. I was soda free though for the first 6 months.

enigmachik 403 Posted January 22, 2013 Yeah, when I do give into my soda cravings, it's always diet and a can of soda can last me for hours with my tiny tummy. lol
MsLissa12 29 Posted January 22, 2013 you guys are making me feel a whole lot better!!!! I've been DYING for a soda. I'm just at 6wks post op and for sure it's a HUGE no-no...and the other thing that hit me recently...PRINGLES CHIPS!! I'm a chip person, but have moved away from the "chip habit" about 2yrs ago...I'm not a big soda drinker either, but I think it's due to not being able to have it, and my over whelming "need" to belch after eating to rid the GI of excess air...i've not had a sip of soda or not one potato chip (or cheeto cheese puff) P.S. I would choose PEPSI MAX if I could have soda (or PEPSI NEXT) 1 SaraLaughs reacted to this

Carol Watts 67 Posted January 23, 2013 I was a Dr Pepper and sweet eater before surgery. Since surgery I have found myself eating Peanut Butter, but only peter pan honey roasted smooth. I didnt eat that before surgery. I have also found myself eating potato Soup from Sam's Club it has chives in it. I never eat chives. I have always been a picky eater. Also fish I could eat fish all the time. 2 SaraLaughs and enigmachik reacted to this
