Capricornrose 59 Posted January 22, 2013 I have been basically eating whatever I can get my hands on without tracking. I downloaded and started using myfitnesspal today. I didn't track everything I ate today because I just got tired of it. I really like to just eat without writing it down. I want to lose 30lbs before surgery this Fall. Any suggestions you guys? I know I have to do something.
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted January 22, 2013 Hmmm, if you don't eat it, you don't have to record it. 4 Butterthebean, thesmilos, ArtSong and 1 other reacted to this
*Dean* 1,594 Posted January 22, 2013 Keep persevering. MFP gets easier and quicker the more you use it. Once all your favourite / regular foods are in there it's much quicker.
Delena2/11 59 Posted January 22, 2013 My Fitness Pal is the easiest thing I have found too. Keep on keeping on! There is no other way to go about that bc we need to be accountable for what we eat. I would rather not too so I know how you feel! Good luck!
*Dean* 1,594 Posted January 22, 2013 I have a rule as well. I might forget to track a meal / snack, but my rule is I can't eat anything else until I've updated it.
Capricornrose 59 Posted January 22, 2013 Hmmm, if you don't eat it, you don't have to record it. Maybe I should clarify...without starving. LOL

ArtSong 291 Posted January 22, 2013 Sometimes I will write down my food the entire week that way its like a menu just look at it and I know what I'm going to eat if it's not on there I don't eat it Sent from my iPhone using VST

AussieLady 521 Posted January 22, 2013 Pre-surgery I lost a lot of weight by using MyFitnessPal and sticking to 1200 calories per day.
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted January 22, 2013 Actually I've found pre planning your food for the day is the best way to go. Make a daily meal plan & stick to it. Then you are not grabbing stuff because of a craving or hunger which will cause you to eat off plan faster than anything else. 1 genifer reacted to this
SaraLaughs 23 Posted January 22, 2013 I detest tracking too, so I try to make a game of it. I reward myself when I record my meal. I try to record my foods before I eat them. Now that I'm post-op, I find my OCD kicking in because I want to make sure I hit my Protein for the day, and Fluid levels, and etc. I don't have much advice for you except to say I feel your pain. Sometimes there's nothing to it but to just force yourself to do it. Good luck! 1 Capricornrose reacted to this
Capricornrose 59 Posted January 23, 2013 Thank you guys. I think it is something I'm going to have to make myself do. I like the idea of planning ahead for the day or even week. I may start off with planning the next day the night before and seeing how that goes.
