mine vs 2 year old

Recommended Posts

I babysit a two year old. I'm 8 months post operation and I'm 39 pounds away from the surgeon's goal. Here's a look at my Breakfast this morning. His plate has the orange fork. He cleaned his plate while I was barely able to get in half of mine.

I know the feeling, I'm 10 weeks out and if I finished your plate I'd be uncomfortable, realistically I'd only have gotten through 3/4's of it.

What I find interesting is how hard our bodies will fight to keep the weight. Yes I've lost weight and I've actually been surprised at how much and how fast. BUT I've had two, week long stalls that despite eating "less than a two year old" took a week to 9 days to break. It just doesn't want to let it go easily.

Yup, that is about what I experienced, too. One thing it illustrates for me is how little we actually need to sustain ourselves. What we eat and what are body absorbs are two different things. Even if we sit down and eat 5,000 calories, it doesn't mean our bodies actually absorb all 5,000 calories. Even "normal" people do not absorb all the calories they consume. My wife has always been a healthy, slender weight and I eat about one third the quantity she does. Just went to the Dr and my blood work is fabulous and I feel great.

Bottom line, it is time to get into our heads our new "normal". The portions we used to eat is nowhere near "normal" and I am discovering that even "normal" portions are still larger than what our bodies actually need.

I'm two months and a couple of days out. I have been at a stall for at least two weeks. My nutritionist says that I don't intake enough calories, but I feel that I'm eating too much at times. What do I do??

Eat more often, even though you do not feel hungry. I had to set reminders to eat. Worked for me.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
