This may seem weird but try something a little high calorie. I was sleeved 4 days before you and also hit a stall at the same point. During the end of mushy foods/beginning of soft foods I had a hard time keeping things down and as a result there was a period where i didn't get down much of anything. I ate the burger part of a wendy's jr bacon cheeseburger and some guacamole, and BAM! My almost weeklong stall was over! It was almost like my body had gone into starvation mode and was no longer losing, giving it some fat and calories seemed to do the trick for me. Woke up the next morning and was down 2lbs.

I hit a major stall at almost exactly the same point you are. (I'm 6 weeks out now.) I talked to my nutritionist, and I was freaking out. I went almost two weeks without losing any weight. She assured me that this is totally normal as you start to reintroduce foods, and it's called "refeeding edema". In other words, your body is grabbing salt and food for dear life! But I kept with the program, started working out, and in week 4, I really started losing weight again. I'm averaging 3 pounds a week now, but this week is shaping up to be even better than that. Hang in there! I freaked out when I stalled, even though I had been told to expect it. You WILL get through it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
