Fell off the wagon months ago

Recommended Posts

I'm the same way I feel like i feel off the wagon . I was sleeved on 12/30/11 and down 60 i want to lose another 50. I think what I also need to do is see a new nutritionist .Hopefully with that and getting back in the gym will do the trick.

I was in the same boat. I wasn't exercising at all but I am now at a point that it is not just falling off. I just kept looking for something to do that was fun I finally settled on Zumba and Just dance at home.

Love those...but must admit.....the Zumba isnt as fun at home. but boy do u work up a sweat!! especially with Just Dance too. Love that one. I want the Hip Hop dance workout. :)

I was sleeved on 2/19 and also can't exercise like I wanted but due extensive neurosurgery. I also have lost 60lbs. However, my nut told to get a lifecycle which can be used for the arms and legs and is a real workout. She explained that while most people will slow down after 3 months, I will start and consistently lose more weight in month 4-6. My wife bought a recumbent bike and a Pilates machine for me with the approval of my neurosurgeon and as an early 25th anniversary present. Good luck to you.

We all must believe that it is never too late. Never. This is a lifelong journey that will have it's ups and downs. I am three months out, and have hit stalls and have strayed from recommendations at times. But so far I plug ahead, learn from my mistakes, and hold myself accountable for what I do and what I eat.

You have lost 60 pounds and don't forget that in itself is a success. But do get your head in the game. Don't keep beating yourself up, but rather focus on the days just ahead of you and make some changes. We are all part of a really big team, and there are many here that will support and encourage you. Good Luck.... you can do this.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
