Where are my maryland sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I am feeling pretty good and have been able to sip my liquids and Protein Shakes easily so far! I only stayed in the hospital one night! So glad to sleep in my own bed tonight!!

How are you feeling? Have you lost a lot? I hope all is wonderful. Can't wait to hear about it at the next support group.

I am so sorry!!! I'm sure you are incredibly frustrated.

I was very worried about some unforeseen testing' date=' but I got my results and everything came out ok.

Did dr g give you an idea of what you need to do, and when he can reschedule?[/quote']

Well all my pre results were fine... It was once he opened me up on the OR table.... So just in a few months I'm hoping June... Happy birthday to me!

I am even more sorry now. Not good news to come out of anesthesia to.

Keep us updated. I'm glad it's just a bump and not a brick wall.

From St. Mary's county. Had my surgery March 11 at Johns Hopkins Bayview by Dr. Nguyen. Love the doctor, a little let down by the administrative staff.. nice people but they need to get it together.

I am also from St Mary's / Southern Calvert County (work in one, live in the other) and went to JH Bayview last year. I loved the Doctor, but did not care for his staff. Not sure where to go now.

I'm interested to know Md sleevers how has it been since surgery? And what are some of the things that stand out to be mindful about post op? I am waiting for my approval and a tentative date for December 30 with Dr. Singh. I am really anxious waiting and can't wait to be sleeved. How long did it take for you guys to get approval I have BCBS carefirst.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
