Tanning beds or sunless tanning products?

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone has used sunless tanning products and what do you think? Do you turn orange? How long does it last? Suggestions on brands/kinds? Spray tan or lotions? Or good old tanning beds? Also does tanning help with the appearance of scars or make them worse? I know it sure helps with cellulite lol. Thanks!

I'm thinking about tanning myself, although I really fear the skin cancer. But I'm out in the summer a ton anyway so a feel a little base now won't hurt and might make me feel better.

Please don't use tanning beds. My daughter has had several melanoma's removed from her face. The sun is not a good friend.

DON'T get your scars in the sun or under a tanning bed for 1 year!!! You will really regret it - it makes the scars turn very dark, permanently I think. I went tanning three times a few months after surgery, that was over 5 months ago now. And my scars are still completely discolored from it.

I tan in a tanning bed, was sleeved 12/4 and just starting tanning again a month out. I just put a wash cloth over my incision sites. Yeah I got a white square on my belly but only my husband and I know that. ;). I use to use salon lotions but after i bought my own tanning bed i been using cheap ones from Walmart and they work the same.. I have never use sunless lotions so I can't help you on that one. Either way keep your incisions covered and away from sunlight. Mine are already faded pretty good and can hardly tell they are there and want to keep it that way.

Ok, one question and I'm not trying to start anything here, just trying to understand. Why would you go through the surgery to be happier and healthier and then get in a tanning bed? They are proven to cause skin cancer with minimal use. I'm just not sure I understand the thinking.

I haven't tanned in a bed in years, however- I tanned after having my gallbladder out for probably 6ish months starting at 1 month post op. My scars are so faded and minuscule I had a hard time finding one to show a friend who was going to be having the surgery. I think it's yet another your mileage may vary. But- there are some awesome YouTube videos about self tanning. I'm really tempted to try it.

I'm still wondering too. And there are lotions you can buy that are... Tinted? But I don't want to waste the money if it doesn't work it washes off in Water lol

It's funny you start with you don't want to start anything but yet you still did. Is it your job to understand everyone's thinking? Because I will tell you...it's none of your business! Nobody has to explain anything to you. I responded with what I knew to help. Next time keep your catty comments to yourself. I sure hope you understand me know....

I use self tanners and love them. The newer ones are not like the 80's orange ones. Lol

I do go to a tanning salon and use the mystic spray tan.it stays on longer and looks very nice. I go maybe twice a month, when doing it. I haven't gone in a couple of months.

The at-home versions are the l'oreal sublime bronze gel. You can see where you put it and looks very good. I love it. I just can't get to my back. :(

The jergens for the face is great, also.

Hope this helps.

The self tanners that come with a glove or applicator type mitt you put on your hand I think are best because without them your palms will get orange and it's a dead giveaway you fake tan lol

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
