amitch17 17 Posted January 21, 2013 Has anyone had this done instead of the sleeve? If so what were the results? Is it working well? Complications? I've been doing a bit of research and am torn between the two.
Bos123 221 Posted January 21, 2013 Has anyone had this done instead of the sleeve? If so what were the results? Is it working well? Complications? I've been doing a bit of research and am torn between the two. On this forum most will Preach the sleeve and not plication. I have the plication and love it so far. The plication board is very slow but lots of people have it. Many on the lb talk have it too, either alone or with the lb. I was low bmi, 7 weeks out and have lost 29 PDs. I feel great, and like the sleeve, this tiny stomach feels like a miracle... To feel full after so little food! I am mostly on this forum because post op, our eating plans and what not are fairly similar, and as you prob seen the plication forum is slow! Lots of great info and people on here. It's tough to ask people who don't have the plication for their opinion because usually it's the horror stories they've heard about lol, but not experienced! Anyway, I think both are good, plication was right for me. Any questions, shoot away:) good luck with your decision! 1 dionysus69 reacted to this
dionysus69 29 Posted March 26, 2013 I had the Plication done March 4th and I love it so much!! I too am amazed how full and satified I feel on such a small amount of food!! It really is a Miracle and in my opinion the least invasive and least expensive way to go!! I am down 24lbs but I haven't been on a scale in 2 weeks so its more as my clothes are getting very loose!! YAY!! Do it!!
genepha 47 Posted March 26, 2013 I had a banded plication a little over 2 years ago and am currently scheduled to revise to a sleeve. I liked the plication early on but lost almost all of the restriction after about 6-9 months. Good luck to you! Jenn

Bos123 221 Posted March 27, 2013 What is plication? Instead of cutting out the stretchy portion of the stomach, they measure ( with the same bougie), and fold the stomach into itself, double stitch it in a way that has the same restriction as a sleeve but does not cut off blood flow to the stomach. The sleeve boasts a dramatic reduction in the grenahlin horomon, however a perk to the plication is not actually loosing any of your stomach incase it's needed lol... Hopefully one would never need a revision but the options there. They say its reversible then, but why would I want it reversed lol...
