Newbie: Needs an assessment of protein powder Beverly Ultimate Muscle

Recommended Posts

Hi,

As I am sure most of us have been on several diets and have a variety of things left over from previous diets. I have a couple of containers of Protein powder that I love the taste: Beverly Ultimate Muscle Protein. Here are the stats. Will it work for VSG lifestyle?

Calories: 120

Cal from Fat: 30

Total Fat: 3.5

Cholestrol: 5mg

Sodium: 200 mg

Potassium: 310mg

Total Carb: 4 g

Diet Fiber: 1 g

Sugar: 0g

Protein: 20 g

Calcium: 200mg

Iron: 1 mg

Magnesium 120mg

(milk, protein isolate, Calcium caseinate, whey protein concentrate, egg white, L-arginine, L-glutaminem, L-isolecucine, L-leucine, L-valine)

Thank you in advance for your input.

Mary

Yup. It'll work. What are you planning to mix it with?

I'd recommend unsweetened almond milk.

When I made it before, I used 1/2 cup of frozen berries and either Water or chrystal light. Is it OK to use some frozen fruit in these Protein drinks?

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I love the taste. They have a chocolate, vanilla and Cookies and cream. chocolate is my favorite.

Just be aware of the high sugar content. Add up your calories

Be careful adding fruit right after surgery. Most diet plans don't allow fruit for awhile (4-6 wks?). The Fiber is hard on the newly incised stomach, and fruit tends to be acidic, too.

OK, then it will be almond milk or chrystal light. Thank you for the information. Maybe some ice cubes.

I added a small bit of banana to mine but I was having leg cramps and it was suggested by my surgeon.

I still need to try almond milk!

If you are needing potassium, coconut Water is great.

just be very careful with the coconut Water it is a natural laxative and can be explosive!!!! with residual bloating and stomach cramps. Live and learn thats me and that wasn't after WLS that was last year at my friend who is a Vegan.
