Hoosiergirl and 4my2boys - its great to hear you both are doing well. Keep us updated! When do you think you'll go home? Do you feel any hunger?

I leave for home tomorrow. THey removed my drain today, so technially, I could have left today. Something about one extra day of rest seemd right to me!

NO HUNGER at all. A bit of upset stomach now and then due to acid production, but I have meds to help with that. Everyone from the surgery center was calling me "super woman" because I bounced back so quickly.

What is the invite thing about? Sorry new to group and a bit confused.

Also I'm on the pre op diet and I'm tired all the time. I've been going to bed early, feel good in the morning but get tired as the day goes on. Is it because of not having many calories? Just getting nervous. Surgery is Monday.

Hi everyone! I was sleeved on February 4, also. Woke up in a lot of pain. It has gotten better since. It is a strange sensation, gurgling and pressure. The pain meds are super helpful at this point. I am so happy and a little envious of those who are not having any issues. :) I am on the way home now. Passed the leak test and have kept in all my fluids! Woohoo! Here we go!

Just found out today I'm gonna be a February Sleever!! 2/26 is the day! Start preop Tuesday 2/12. I think I'm more nervous about the preop liquid diet than the actual surgery! Lol!

I have the lapband which is getting reversed to the sleeve on the 19th, when I got my lapband I remember struggling on the preop diet like I am with this one, and thinking how am I going to be able to do this for weeks after?! well the weeks after are actually easier! your stomach will be so much smaller so you won't get those hunger pains. think of it as 2 weeks of struggle for a new life!

Are you allowed to have anything other then liquids on your preop diet. I'm allowed to have cheese stick yogurt pudding and cottage cheese just no more then 6 a day, it makes it a little easier but not much. Who wants to be Eating cottage cheese when their family are having hamburgers. But so far I have not given into temptations even though its hard

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
