OK - I had my surgery on Monday, Feb. 4 and guys - I am feeling really good. Very little soreness, minimal nausea, no vomiting. Drinking is a challenge as you feel "full" and if you drink too fast, a little pressure in your sternum.

The only advise I can share is to KICK ASS on your pre-op diet! It is truly worth it and makes for a safer surgery for you. These doctors know what they are doing...we just have to be good patients. Hugs and well wishes to all of you!

Congrats and I'm glad that you are doing so well!

Thanks for the advice! I start my pre op diet on the 11th. I need to print your "KICK ASS" paragraph and keep it where I can see it throughout my pre op diet :)

Day 3 post op and I am feeling a lot better. Still very sore but better than I expected. Even at the worst I do not regret having this surgery.

Stay stong, walk as much as you can, bring Chapstick, small pillow. And be ready for an awesome nap.

Day 3 on my post op sleeve too. Minimal pain, some diarrhea from the contrast for the leak test (no leaks) and I got a kiss from my cute doctor. This is a teaching hospital so I feel like I'm on Greys Anatomy! Bonus!!!! I am probably staying one more night because I am having trouble getting fluids in but no vomiting. Just had my drain pulled too...not too bad..more if a strange tickle feeling. Keep up the good work my fellow 2/4 sleeves and prayers to all the rest of my feb sleeve buddies.

Tomorrow makes day 3 for me and it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be so far...I am a total drama queen and I expected I would have broken down and cried like a baby by now, but I'm doing ok! I did tear up this morning because I work at a hotel and they had bacon at Breakfast and they were all raving about it and it made me so sad and frustrated...but I reminded myself that I am doing this for a reason! It's frustrating to have food all around you and not be able to eat any of it, but I know you can do it! Trust me, if I can, anyone can!!! I feel like I'm finally learning self control, and in all honesty it feels really good to be proud of myself for saying no to things I shouldn't eat! Best of luck!!!

Stay strong! You can do it! Just take it one hour at at time. One minute at at time if need be. Good luck!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
