Puree is disgusting. I basically ate fat free refried Beans during this stage. I also had grits (I live in the south). I sprinkled Unjury over both of them. I moved on to soft foods a week early, but I am NOT telling you to do it. I just could NOT do pureed.< /p>

When I was pre- surgery, I was like "there is no way I'm eating puréed meat, I will never be that hungry"

Well I was! and I broke down and tried puréed chicken with gravy and... Well... It was good and filled me up !!

The things that got me through the puree stage the most were tuna salad, egg salad, and the canned chicken. I have also since found some good canned turkey and ham that are like that. Good Luck.

I ate a lot of baby food. It needed salt, but wasn't undoable. I also had cream of wheat once, and canned tuna. I was not putting meat in a blender, just couldn't do it. I did eat cheese, edamame, boiled peanuts, tofu, pea Soup, low fat cottage cheese, hummus and other soft things.

My nut does not recommend puree because many people dont like it. She suggest that once at that stage chew food until its very fine... try that I think it would be a lot better than the actual puree

Baby food is not easy. I found out very quickly that peas were ok, so was anything like fruit with oatmeal or fruit. Things like turkey with sweet potatoes or chicken with apples was odd tasting and "sweet" which really put me off. Sweet flavored meat was icky to me. So I would heat up some baby food peas or carrots with some salt and have that with low fat cottage cheese or with some canned tuna or pea Soup and could do it. I am SO glad that that phase of the diet plan didn't last very long. It was really over before I knew it. That might have even been harder than straight liquids.< /p>

Ohh see when I bought baby food it was straight chicken nothing else :P It was bad!!

Puréeing your own chicken and gravy looks gross but it really tasted good warm and filling..

meat loaf, mashed potatoes, corn & ketchup. A favorite dish of our house. That was actually tasty puréed together, but since I was a kid I always mixed my plate with this dish.

I would puree up tuna or chicken or egg and add in a little greek yogurt, a little lemon and/or pickle juice and that would do. Take it easy. You have plenty of time to introduce foods. Experiment a little and just do your thing. You can do this.

I avoided grits and really anything too carby, it didn't feel good in my stomach and was just empty calories. I still do, actually.

That was actually what I did. And I did it with fish. I had the low calorie Blackened Tilapia at Luby's Cafeteria. I was about 3-and-a-half weeks out. I could only eat about 1/3 of what they gave me and I chewed it until it was mush.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
