I am home again now. I live in the mountains. It's really lovely at the moment, weather in mid 80's. Went to see a plastic surgeon today, thinking about a forehead lift. Trying to get back the years I wasted being fat. Hmmmm, very expensive, maybe I will grow old gracefully, but slim!

Feeling good but just can't sleep!! I'm sure I am going to have a lot more that needs lifting but thought I would start at the top and work my way down.

Hehehe! I like that approach!! Although with me they may have to start at the bottom, and start picking things up!!

i am glad I found this thread. Haven't been coming here as much as it was getting rather negative. But I am off work for a month following surgery on my arm, so decided to check back in (plus starting to go a little stir crazy). Hurray for uplifting and positive thoughts about our new lives!!

I love going for walks on the beach! There is nothing more healing to me than the ocean :)

Have fun!

Which beaches do you like? I'm in Florida, Siesta Key has the best sand, Cocoa Beach is the funnest so far.

I love getting up early and watching the sun rise. Also, at Cocoa beach late at night you can take the kids to the beach with flashlights and chase the crabs. I know, not very wild fun.

If I sit and listen to the waves come in long enough my brain goes numb. I'm so relaxed it's like I'm hypnotized.

Chasing 2 kids isn't exercise??;)

This reminds me of what my sister-in-law said to me once... With chasing kids all day you'll be able to lose weight. Gotta love in-laws :-)

The beach is my favorite place to be!! I'm in northem California We go to all sorts of different beaches it depends on what we are doing for the day!

During the weekdays when the kids are in school

my friend and I load up our cruisers and head to west cliff in I Santa Cruz and ride. We take the kids to our "secret" beach we call " keep out"

We also go tide pooling a lot. I used to be a docent at natural bridges state beach and talked to school children about the tidal pools.

Sometimes my husband and I will ditch the kids and take a ride to Big Sur the beaches there are rocky and wild! We like to hike out to a couple, and nap in the sun.

This picture is from two or three weeks ago when we went to Monterey for the day when the kids and I collected some sea glass

And this one is from this week in Santa Cruz

And this one is my son playing hooky from school that same day so we could cheer up and eat sushi

Sorry for the long response! But you asked :)

Oh and yes the waves I could never move away I always say I need the ocean for "medicinal reasons"

Oh, man, California! I was there in the Navy in San Diego. What a gorgeous place! I loved La Jolla. The waves are better in Cal. I think. Florida has some awesome theme parks but so does Cal. We don't have state tax, though.:D

We just recently moved to Marblehead, MA, a beautiful little coastal town. It has been freezing here lately - so no walking on the beach but I SOOOOOO look forward to March when I can do that. I love the sights, the sounds and the smell of the air. Right now I'm mostly doing treadmill. When the temps are above freezing, my hubby & I will walk around town. I <3 the beach

I live on a small shoreline town in Ct on the Long Island Sound. It is peaceful and calm, but my favorite beaches are Naussett Beach and scusset Beach in Orleans Mass, better know as Cape Cod. I also love Rhode Island beaches in Misquamicut, Watch Hill and East beach...and let's not forget Luquillo Beach, Luquillo Puerto Rico

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
