It would be nice if people would stop posting threads with topics meant to bash other people though.

Well don't invite them over here. Anyway Fyre, you can't hate the beach on this thread. We are nice people, 'hate' is not in our vocabulary.

I don't hate the beach lol I heard you Aussies had to come up with two new colors to your heat map because the temps where way high! I read it on yahoo. Are you guys cooking out there?! Too hot for the beach with all your very hot Australian men that you should post pictures of on here cough cough.

Yeah mate, I've noticed the language is pretty similar with a couple of the accounts.

And the photos looked remarkably alike... just sayin'... I went back and checked.

Sign me up! I find myself visiting this site daily and I have learned so much .But for me it seemed to be hostile at times. I'm all for positive reality based support. Because I have basically no support group here at home I was great full to have found this site. I know that I could do a topic search for the answers to my questions but I could do that on just about any Google search. What was important to me is to know that there was a real person on the other end of my post interested in speaking back to me. No matter how many times before that had heard my comment or question. Sometime it is more about the comfort and support than it is about the actual question. Sometimes we are just scared and need that connection.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
