I thought you were kidding. Sorry for my ironic answer which was an attempt at Python-style humor, "I would join this thread but I don't agree with it".

I understand what you mean, VST has been disheartening lately. But sometimes you need to turn your cheek and understand that the meanest are the ones hurting the most.

Thank you. Im new here and i have noticed quite alot of sarcasm. This place is supposed to be for encouragement. Its disheartening to see that kind of behavior from people. I thought we were all in this together on some level or another. Im happy this page exist. Now i dont feel so uncomfortable asking question for fear of the "VSG Perfection Police" shooting me down...lol. Hi everyone, i was sleeved on dec 17th. I have lost 28 lbs thus far. Doing well with eating, and just ok with exercising. But i am still a very active and busy woman, wife, and mom of 10 and 15 year old kids. Most days i have boundless energy, but usually at least once a week i feel like im gonna crash and burn out. Does this happen to anyone else?

Wow that's great weight loss! Your barely a month out. I don't think I even started feeling normal till a month out! It happens our body's are going to go through a lot of adjustments in the first couple of months.

Hello!

ibv2 - great loss.

It took a while for my energy levels to even out. Now they're pretty consistent and by the time it's bed time I'm tired! Pre op i'd be up for hours after a massive dinner with lots of wine!

I miss wine :(

Thank you! Its so much information out there that sometimes i get confused as to how much is too much and how little is too little. I just ended telling myself to just listen to my body....something i never did before i had this surgery. For once in my life i feel that i like me, and not someone else mold of who they think i should be. I give major kudos to all of us and our bravery doing what we do everyday. Anyone who says this is the "easy way out" has blinders on and they should only hope to be as brave as us one day. We are heroes!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
