So I'm enjoying a skinny girl cosmopolitan and I'm already down 20 pounds , so what is the big fuss about alcohol if your body can totally tolerate it ?!?!?!?

Well if that's all the worry than I'm fine because I still want my curves and don't want to get to skinny I'm a size 12 so in no hurry to lose more ! I do go to the gym 4 times a week to tone and follow all the liquid and soft food diet !

Your body needs to heal first off. Second it is empty calories. Why put your body through surgery if you won't follow the plan?

I'm not here to say anything negative. Just a few points. Your body has just been through a major surgery. Your new stomach is still healing. For me, I wouldn't try this in fear that I would damage my healing stomach! :)

Honestly because this has to be a joke. Your body needs to heal. Anyone who has this surgery isn't silly enough to start drinking two weeks out...I'm with the "punked" group. Ha ha! But really someone might read this and think it's real and that's not funny.

Obviously I'm on the right track if I'm down 20 pounds in 2 weeks ! The most important thing is not to stretch out the sleeve by eating certain foods that your stomach cannot tolerate . Which I have stuck to this diet . And work out 4 days a week . Just thought someone could give me some expert advice on how alcohol affects the sleeve in a negative way . If the alcohol was burning my insides or making sick in any way that would be a whole different story .

Your lortab is in a suspension liquid made safe for the gastric lining...also it is temporary benefit that out weighs risk.

Alcohol can ulcerate fresh wounds but you can do as you like its your body

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
