Nuts and seeds

Recommended Posts

I tried searching for this but got buried in NUTS! Once on solid foods do folks do okay with nuts? I know nutritionists often say no, but that's more of a "dieting" and not mechanical issue. I have a hiking trip planned for several months post-op and we usually pack trail mix. Just need to know if I'll need to consider a back-up plan.

Believe it or not, nuts are about the only thing I eat that I actually enjoy and have no problem with. I eat almonds, cashews, peanuts and sunflower seeds. My NUT told me it was okay as long as they agreed with me. She said the Protein was good and since I am not getting many calories anyway that the calories were fine. I also like to get the mixed nuts (buy by the pound in the grocery bin) that you have to crack. It gives me something to do while watching TV and it takes longer to eat a few.

My NUT had me wait until month 3 to start nuts. She also prefers if I stick to almounds and walnuts. I usually have no problem with them as long as I chew them good.

Not a day goes by that I don't eat raw almonds. I tried the flavored ones but I eat too many, so I stick with the raw. Move them and never had a problem with them.

Awesome, thanks everyone. I'm banded so used to having mechanical issues with certain foods.

At six weeks out, my stomach did good with all sorts of nuts. Still does. :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
