Dont throw stones at glass houses

Hey sleeve family, just some food for thought (pun intended) please try to be more empathetic and kind towards fellow sleevers. None of us are perfect. Constructive advice and loving encouragment are the only things i should see on these threads, but what i do see in addition is the "holier then thou" attitude. Some ppl smoke, some cant give up their m n m addiction. Humans are not perfect. We should be a support system for each other.

Oh Selbrady this is so true! But there are many people on this forum who like to call themselves perfect and others failures. I dont understand how these people went from being obese compulsive eaters to perfect just because they had surgery. No-one is perfect and given that this is a 'support forum' I believe that those of us who struggle should be given the most support but it seems that the people on this forum prefer to make the strugglers feel like failures. It's just disgusting and many people on here need to re-visit the meaning of 'SUPPORT'.

That's why I've backed off from this forum! I use to be on every day or several times a day! Now I just get support from my Facebook and MFP friends! Too scared to post problems on here don't want to be attached or curse nobody out do I only post my progress

My biggest problem here is when I write something like in the cheeseburger thread I was misunderstood and called an idiot. And I'm pretty tired of ppl trying to shake the finger at me and tell me I'm a bad person when in reality I cry when I catch a fish because I feel terrible. I'm sick of coming on here and having people act almighty when I stated an opinion that was not even for them. And I find that there are some extremely EXTREMELY emotional ppl on here. And they are way to sensitive. But I'm not going to let ppl talk down to me anymore. I'm a good guy and I try to be funny and try and make ppls days and then I also try and help people with my own thoughts. But when I get attacked for it claws are gonna come out. Meow. Lol

I just read that thread! I hardly even get on here now because every other thread is some attack and ridiculous back and forth! It makes me afraid to post anything I'm struggling with for fear of getting verbally jumped by hardcore sleevers! haha

I think people need to remember that this is a SUPPORT community!

See, my biggest pet peeve is people who have the cahonas to pass judgement on others or to critisize others....oh to be a fly on the wall when they cheat and eat bad stuff ;) then we could throw plastic balls at them...."whos perfect now b****es"???

I think I said some stuff that was mean on that thread and I can't delete but in the heat of the moment I was so mad. I have to say though I'm not a crazy diet person. I just happen to cook a lot of what I want to eat cause its easier to keep track of my Protein. I love everyone and for a price I can be a dancer a private dancer for money.... Just a small tid bit... Did anyone know Tina turner was a hoochie lol

I think if someone attacks you, you are fully entitled to a smartass response back, but man there are some people on here are quick to be mean! I have seen one person go as far as to call someone else ugly and fat during a fight... on a weight loss support group... WTF?

I personally had this surgery so that I could still enjoy eating a "bad" thing or 2 on occasion, for me it is all about Portion Control. I enjoy delicious food too much to completely cut it out for nothing but rice cakes and salads

I agree 100% with you. I think people who are so quick to call names or pass judgement have other issues going on in their lives so they mask it be proposing to be WLS or sleeve experts! Days after my surgery I was attacked on a thread asking if you believed prayers work-I said yes and you wouldn't believe the nasty, negative response I received...by an 'experienced' sleever! It was very disconcerting to me. Ive read that persons posts from time to time and am like, 'Wow, really?" yet there are posters that think her words are gold! I don't get it! I've tried to post my own questions, from time to time-get very few responses. I'm happily married, losing weight like Water, believe in God and love my sleeve!

Holly I totally agree. People here tend to be pompous at times and there is a following to that. But we little people have each other. So it doesn't matter.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
