So has anyone else had this happen? I'm 6 weeks postop' date=' 51lbs down and halfway to goal. And for the last 4 days, all I can think about is sex. I could care less about food lately, just keep daydreaming about sex. Which is especially difficult since my husband deployed 2 weeks ago for a 9 month deployment.

I'm worried that my food addiction has transferred into the beginnings of what could be a sex addiction. (Wouldn't be the first time either. From 18-22 I was super skinny, and VERY sexually active. I was also addicted to shopping at the time) So I'm concerned that I'm going to turn to either sex or shopping and both would be detrimental to my marriage (we paid of all our debt, and our debt free since 2010). Anyone else have this happen post surgery?? Anyone have suggestions? Will it pass? Or will I just become more and more sexually frustrated the skinnier I get??!!! Thanks y'all!

You should be fine just use a sex toy until hubby comes back home.

I haven't had WLS yet but I had a hysterectomy last summer and I did the same thing. I was obsessed for about 4 weeks or more.

I'm not addicted to sex yet, but I think about it often. If your hubby is away, I'm a Pure Roamnce consultant. I can get you something to take the edge off ;)

Please believe me when I say.. chatting and flirting and cybersex with other guys is not the answer. I did that during my first marriage.. you start off thinking it won't hurt anything because you don't know the guy.. it's impersonal... but it gets personal real quick... and my marriage ended because of it. So, please don't succumb to that temptation.

Sex toys, skype with your hubby... but keep it focused on him.

You look great, by the way.

I'm happy to report that with the help of OA, my higher power and my hubs, I have overcome this problem. Do I still enjoy the glances from people when I'm out? Sure. But it ends there. So grateful for all of your support!

My doctor wanted me to get on Birth control preferably the IUD. He basically told me the hormones will drive me off the roof! lol

It can also be in the head. hormones, you look good and mentally/physically he wont be there to satisfy that touch. You;ll be fine. My friends sends her hubby naughty pics and i think they skype sex alot too lol. it's all in the imagination. Good Luck!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
