Fair2bslimLady 72 Posted January 19, 2013 Hi guys today is a better day, yesterday was hard really hard. My Dr gave me a paper said 10 days of liquid diet and that was it. My Nut told me anything that is liquid or can go through a straw. So I am left buying Protein Shakes and broth and sugar free Jello and reading, the sleeve is New to my hospital and I think that they are doing the best they can. I dont have a good relationship with my Dr for whatever reason he seems very cut and dry so I just try to eat clean and stay healthy. I wish it was a better situation but I am happy that I am finally getting my Sleeve I started this journey in Sept.
kidrn72 85 Posted January 19, 2013 I am on day 10 of 14 days of liquid pre op diet and it does get easier. the first 4 days were the hardest. I find chicken broth ( I use the reduced sodium Swansen's the best). I am allowed SF popsicles and crystal light drinks along with Water. The only down fall I have is no energy and brain fog. You are not alone and you CAN DO IT!! url=http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com][/url]
mom2five 292 Posted January 19, 2013 I like to get chicken noodle Soup and strain all the noodles and chicken out of it and drink that. It tastes a lot better than just broth to me. I'm on clear/full liquids, so I also have creamed Soups. I really like the cream of chicken Soup. I add half a cup of 1% milk and half a cup of Water to it and some pepper... strain out the pieces of chicken and I drink it.. it is very filling and soothing when you can't actually eat anything. I do have 2 or 3 Protein shakes every day... depending on how close I am to reaching my Protein goal. My surgeon wants me to have no lower than 80 grams of protein per day. At first it was hard but this is day 4 (I only have to do it for a week) and it is much easier now... I hardly even crave food now... although sometimes when I am cooking for the family, I want something because it smells so good, but I haven't cheated. Hang in there... if you can have full liquids, get some creamed soups.. it will help a lot. My doctor said to avoid cream of potato... only have it sparingly because of the starch in it... I did have some of that the other day and it was good, but I still prefer the chicken and it has more protein in it too... the milk adds a little protein as well. SoCalDixieGal 172 Posted January 19, 2013 Sipping on hot tea is helping me. Caffeine free like peppermint has been great after "dinner".

Lorraine Freeman 47 Posted January 30, 2013 I bought Protein shake but think its the wrong kind. Any ideas? That's what I was told to drink post op. the strawberry one is yum, but I hated the strawberry and cream one as it was so sweet and sickly.
