Satchel 42 Posted January 19, 2013 I hope this question isn't too corny, but I am a side sleeper. Is it harmful to sleep on your side early out of surgery?
franken05 7 Posted January 19, 2013 I am too. I"ve been sleeping in the recliner because my stent hurts. I really want to sleep in bed but am afraid to. Anyone who knows please help.
SleeveNZ 219 Posted January 19, 2013 Do whatever feels comfortable. If its painful then you shouldn't. I am a tummy sleeper. I was sleeping on my stomach 3 days post op.
lilbearzmom 584 Posted January 19, 2013 As soon as you feel comfortable, you can. It won't feel comfortable at first, but a few days post-surgery you should be good!
cataro 39 Posted January 19, 2013 I would begin the night on my back, then wake up on my side with a sore tummy. I found putting a not too firm pillow on the side then sort of rolling on top of it really helped the soreness. I tried to get the pillow so that it was just under my tummy, not my side. I also found sleeping on my right side was much more comfortable. Hope this helps.
abetterme4.2 268 Posted January 19, 2013 I am a side sleeper and I just put a pillow close to my tummy. It works for me.
ShrinkyDinkMe22 376 Posted January 19, 2013 i was sleeping on my side in the hospital. i just tucked a pillow under my tummy to help ease any pain. but i didnt really have any pain post op. only had one incision. but i would say as soon as its comfy for you, go for it
