Word about REflux and GERD after surgery

I suffer from GERD/reflux and am terrified of what will happen and how bad it can get after surgery. Has anyone had a very severe GERD or reflux before surgery and has seen a great improvement after this surgery?

I'll share my experience. I never had GERD...never, until postop. I wasn't sure what was going on but I was miserable. My de. Put me on Prilosec and has relieved it completely. That is some good medicine..lol! Dr said to take for two months and then see how I do. Hopefully I'll be able to get off of it.

I've had gerd for years and have taken prilosec daily. Still taking prilosec, just open it and put capsules on my tongue. I have only had reflux one time since surgery and it's because I ate too much. It doesn't even compare to how bad it was pre-surgery!
