I feel like I am drowning myself!! I am starting to believe that getting in a full 64 ounces of Fluid a day will be the end of me. Anyone else having this problem? I have been struggling with this since the begining. I finally bought a jug that is exactly 64 ounces.....I needed a visual aid of exactly what it is because all the cups and Water bottles I have were different sizes and it was starting to confuse me. The jug arrived last nigh and OMG is this intimidating!! I know for sure I was not getting this amount of fluid in, not even close! I have been working on this jug now for 8 hours and I am only to half....half....UGH. Please someone HELP.....sincerely, drowning!

I'm with you girl! I feel so bloated all day long, that it's so hard (and unappetizing) to eat my Protein. So...I up'd my Protein Shakes as to get in more fluids and Protein, at the same time. It worked for about two weeks, then I got sick of shakes:(

My new strategy is drinking different things (16 oz each) . I give myself a time by when it has to be consumed. About 4-6 ounces per hour. It's still hard, but the variety has helped. I aim for 11 AM, 3PM, 7PM, and 11PM (I watch the 11 PM news). If I add a shake, the last drink is only 8 ounces.

Hope you find something that works for you! As with everything else in this process, I suppose this too, shall pass:)

Thanks for the suggestion....that's not a bad idea. I know it will improve, eventually. Right now it's just such a struggle!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
