lynn1964 0 Posted November 6, 2006 Hey, I was banded on August 24, 2006. I have lost 40 pounds since the liquid diet before surgery. I received my first fill last Wednesday and I can really tell the difference. I go to my family doctor this week so it will be interesting to see how he thinks I am doing, BP, weight, etc., Hey one thing I have noticed since the fill is that I burp more than usual. It is not PB, because it is just a burp. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, is it because I am not chewing my food enough? By the way, great site, I am glad I joined. *susan* 1,709 Posted November 6, 2006 Hi Lynn and welcome to LBT! Is your family doctor supportive of the lapband? If so, that is great. Mine wasn't, in fact, she was dead set against any type of WLS. Needless to say, I am looking for a new GP. As far as the burping goes, I have just the opposite problem. Sometimes I feel like I would love to burp, but I just can't. It drives me nuts. Do you find that the burps happen when you are eating? If so, that may be your "sign" that you have had enough to eat. I hiccough when I reach my limit. Anyways, welcome, we are glad you are here. If you have any questions, just ask!
Wheetsin 714 Posted November 6, 2006 I burped less frequently, but differently. The best way I could explain it was that the burp felt "deeper". And was never forceful, quite weak, but lasted forever. That stopped being so noticeable and the gurgles kicked in. Now I rarely gurgle unless I'm stuck and things are, more or less, back to the way they were pre-op.
beachgirl 2 Posted November 6, 2006 Just wanted to say welcome Lynn. I have the hiccups when I get full so I know not to eat past the hiccups, it's a very helpful tool.
