Would a homemade open face turkey burger be better than a fast food burger.

Probably. I never did like ground turkey, but I should try it again. I just like to grill turkey breast in a cast Iron pan and add wrap it around some cheese and get it all melty. Good with avocado too. I usually skip the bread, but one slice of some multi grain thing would be too bad. Hmmmm, onions and the aforementioned Greek yogurt, garlic and oregano sauce?

Yep, I will try ground turkey again. I'd probably need to herb or spice it up though.

Sometimes my kids get pissy about ground turkey I don't know why because it all we ever buy ( yet I still got fat) so I buy Liptons onion Soup mix and an egg and add it to a pound of turkey. Worst part about it is mixing with your hands yuck! :P

Sounds good Laura!

The mixing is bad...I dread making meat loaf...but the end result is worth it.

I eat a lot of turkey and chicken.

Believe me there were moments that I was wishing I was "here"!

Eating out is hard sometimes I found out.

"Why are you not eating the appetizers? " You need to have some of this" . "That's all your having! Why?" and every time some one said something every body looks at me :( I thought I was playing it off but apparently not good enough.. The worst was the dessert I had nothing to do while everyone was eating it! I know I can have some I'm just not ready

I completely understand...I usually use the " I had a big lunch" or " I snacked before we came so I'm not real hungry"

It is annoying and uncomfortable when people keep mentioning it.

But after a few months you will be a pro ;)

Is this true my kids would love it if it were??

I like the way turkey tastes..

This is the Internet. I couldn't say it if it wasn't true.

I hope so because last night was about a ridiculous amount of food and drink! And I think people get uncomfortable when you are not doing the same! I don't understand because I was still having a lot of fun! More fun than I've had in a long time at a social event...

Oh this thread is about cheese burgers!!

I love cheeseburgers! Oh no I hate them...

Ummm. I don't know how I feel about them right now !! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
